Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance? How do I submit for reimbursement?

I do not accept insurance at this time, and I am considered an Out-of-Network (OON) provider for insurance companies. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential OON reimbursement. It is always recommended that you check with your insurance provider to understand your OON benefits and how they handle reimbursement for therapy services provided by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT). You are 100% responsible for working with your insurance if you choose; I do not check for benefits.

What are the benefits of private pay therapy?

There are several benefits of paying privately for therapy, including more flexible scheduling, a wider range of treatment options, and a more personalized approach to care. By paying out-of-pocket, you have the ability to choose a therapist who is the best fit for your needs and goals, without being limited by insurance network restrictions. You have the flexibility to schedule sessions at your own pace and convenience, without having to worry about restrictions imposed by insurance. There are no limits to the number of sessions you can have, allowing you to focus on your mental health and well-being for as long as necessary. Private pay therapy also allows for a more confidential and secure relationship between the client and therapist, as insurance companies do not have access to client information or treatment plans.

Do you offer sliding scale spots?

I do offer sliding scale (reduced rate) session fees for clients who may have financial constraints. However, sliding scale spots are limited and it’s best to have a conversation with me about your current financial situation. I understand therapy can be a significant financial investment, and I strive to be as helpful as possible, especially for students and those facing financial difficulties. Please contact me if you are interested in a reduced rate slot.

As of April 2026 all of my reduced rate slots are currently full.

What payment methods do you accept?

Debit and credit cards are accepted. Payment is due at the time of service unless special arrangements have been made.

What is your attendance and cancellation policy?

Clients are expected to show at the start of the session. If you are late for an appointment, your session time may be shortened to accommodate the scheduled appointments following yours. A lateness of more than 15 minutes will be considered a "no show" and you will be charged the full session fee.

I require 48 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling of a session. If notice is not given with at least 48 hours before your session, the full fee for the session will be charged. No Calls/No Shows will be charged the full session fee.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

How does telehealth work?

Telehealth, or teletherapy, is a form of therapy that takes place via a secure online platform. During telehealth sessions, clients can participate in therapy from the comfort of their own home or any location with internet access. Though please note that you must be within the state of Washington at the time of therapy. Our telehealth sessions are conducted over the secure and encrypted video conference in platform Simple Practice, which is compliment with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This allows clients to receive the same quality of therapy that they would receive in an in-person session, without the need for travel or scheduling difficulties.
